DPF info from around the world
There is a wealth of information and activity on the Plasma Focus, which is not very well known outside the field. It’s one of the goals of FFS to make this activity better known, and especially to make the emerging concepts accessible to a non-technical audience. See a few key links listed below.
Plasma Focus sites of interest
Here are some links to plasma focus related articles and sites:
- ”The main issues of research on dense magnetized plasmas in PF discharges” by the PF1000 group.
- Institute for Plasma Focus Studies
- Universal Plasma Focus Laboratory Facility at INTI-UC
Site redesign
Our goal is to collate as much of this sort of information as possible, and better coordinate it so that it’s useful both for researchers, and for the general public. We seek to provide an online location where information on most plasma focus papers, presentations, websites and events can be accessed.
To that end, we are currently working on redesigning the site to provide a better framework for this information, and also to enable user-authored content, linking and so forth. We want to enable users to post news on other to the web and be able to update it, vote on its relevance (digg-style ratings) and build connections.
The redesign will take a few…weeks. [If you’d like to speed things up and are familiar with expression engine and other things noted here and here, or would like to donate $ so we can hire some real web-designing/information architect muscle, please don’t hesitate!]
We will let you know when we set up a beta version for user testing. In a few…weeks.
