Unfortunately, LPP’s concept paper for ARPA-E was not chosen as one of those to be elaborated into a full application.

ARPA-E admitted to being surprised by the 3500 proposals they received for 70 grants. While LPP received only a form letter, we can guess that ARPA-E officials probably processed this mass of proposals in the most rapid manner possible. As a result the usual experts gave the usual advice, eliminating ours and other bold ideas.  We will remain on the lookout for other opportunities, especially once our experiment starts producing new results.
