Is Focus Fusion a scam?  By definition, a scam is “a fraudulent business scheme.  A swindle.”  In order for us (FFS & LPP) to be scammers, we would have to know that Focus Fusion doesn’t work, and be diverting all the funds we’re getting into, for example, an untraceable account in the Bahamas.

Neither of these things are happening.  LPP is pursuing proof-of-concept research in good faith.  The money is being spent on the research process, including overhead, equipment, salaries and so forth.

If you’re still not sure you’re being scammed, perhaps you should look at some real scams out there.  A good resource is http://www.crimes-of-persuasion.com/  Another fun resource on Energy scams in particular is http://www.phact.org/e/con_man.htm

Of course, elderly couples aren’t the only people being taken in by energy scams.  The whole state of California got taken in pretty good by Enron et al as this link points out.
